Ningbo University Health Science Center Successfully Hosts 2025 Local Comprehensive University Medical Education Forum and Clinical Medicine Program Accreditation Seminar

On June 6, 2025, the "2025 Local Comprehensive University Medical Education Forum and Clinical Medicine Program Accreditation Seminar," co-organized by the Medical Education Research and Development Center of Ningbo University and the College of Science and Technology at Ningbo University, was held in Ningbo. Distinguished guests including Lü Zhaofeng, former president of Capital Medical University and specially appointed expert at the National Medical Education Development Center; Wang Weimin, deputy director of Peking University Health Science Center and executive deputy director of the National Medical Education Development Center; Xie Bo, vice dean of Southeast University School of Medicine; Qing Ping, director of the Medical Education Department at Sichuan University West China Medical Center and deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office; Li Zhangping, director of the Academic Affairs Office at Wenzhou Medical University; and Jiao Qibin, assistant to the dean of Hangzhou Normal University Clinical Medical College, delivered keynote reports.

Themed "Focusing on Clinical Medicine Program Accreditation and Enhancing Talent Cultivation Quality," the conference explored pathways for high-quality development of medical education in local comprehensive universities in the new era, shared experiences in clinical medicine program accreditation, and promoted the cultivation of top-tier innovative medical talents. At the opening ceremony, Liu Yu, executive director of Ningbo University Health Science Center, delivered a welcome address. She emphasized the critical role of comprehensive universities in advancing medical education and their responsibilities in serving China’s Healthy China strategy.

During the keynote sessions, leading experts shared cutting-edge insights and practical experiences: Lü Zhaofeng presented on "High-Quality Development of Medical Education in Comprehensive Universities"; Wang Weimin discussed "Upholding Tradition and Innovation in the Era of Fourth-Generation Medical Education"; Xie Bo and Qing Ping shared "Southeast University’s Exploration and Practice in Cultivating Top-Tier Innovative Medical Talents" and "Sichuan University’s Pathway for New Medical Talent Development in Comprehensive Universities," respectively. Additionally, Jiao Qibin and Li Zhangping delivered reports titled "Reflections on Hangzhou Normal University’s Clinical Medicine Program Accreditation" and "Medical Education Evaluation: Key Focuses for Clinical Faculty," exchanging valuable experiences in clinical medicine accreditation.

During the event, staff from the Student Services and Development Department of Ningbo University Health Science Center reported on "Collaborative Medical Education Initiatives (Student Management) at Ningbo University Health Science Center," while Ye Meng, deputy director of the Health Science Center, outlined "Accreditation-Related Work Plans for Ningbo University Health Science Center," laying a solid foundation for achieving high-quality program accreditation and advancing medical education to new heights.

The conference was attended by representatives from the Ningbo Municipal Health Commission’s Science, Technology Education, and International Cooperation Division, peer universities across Zhejiang Province, and members of Ningbo University Health Science Center’s leadership, administrative departments, and faculty. Clinical teaching base leaders, educational administrators, quality control center directors, and clinical faculty representatives also participated in the discussions.
