Ningbo University TeachingHospitals Hold "Preparing for Accreditation · Strengthening Teaching" Clinical Teaching Ward Round Competition

To prepare for the Ministry of Education's clinical medicine program accreditation, deepen the educational philosophy of "student-centered and competence-oriented", and effectively improve teachers' teaching capabilities and the quality of talent cultivation, the 2025 "Preparing for Accreditation · Strengthening Teaching" Clinical Teaching Ward Round Competition for Ningbo University Teaching Hospitals, hosted by the Medical Department of Ningbo University and organized by Ningbo University Affiliated Women and Children's Hospital, was held at the Southern Campus of the Affiliated Women and Children's Hospital on August 28. Ye Meng, Deputy Director of the Medical Department of Ningbo University, Liu Lin, Deputy Party Secretary of the Affiliated Women and Children's Hospital, and Zheng Jishan, Vice President of the hospital, attended the event.

The competition received great attention from all teaching hospitals. Eight outstanding teams participated in the final competition, covering multiple disciplines such as internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, and pediatrics. They demonstrated a high-quality teaching practice competition with exquisite teaching ability and professional quality. The cases selected for the competition were common key clinical cases, which were in line with clinical teaching needs and had both representativeness and practicality.

The competition process was rigorous and orderly, adhering to the principles of "fairness, impartiality, and professionalism" throughout. A professional judging panel composed of senior teachers from major teaching hospitals was specially invited. The eight teams carried out clinical teaching ward round demonstrations in the order of drawing lots, with each session strictly limited to 30 minutes. The assessment focused on four core dimensions: "ward round preparation", "ward round implementation", "ward round skills", and "overall impression", comprehensively testing the participating teams' teaching organization ability and clinical teaching level. During the competition, all teams were well-prepared, expressed themselves fluently, and interacted actively, fully embodying the teaching concepts of "patient-centered" and "fostering virtue through education". The supervising physicians showed high teaching enthusiasm and provided good demonstrations, while the interns reported cases clearly and operated standardizedly, demonstrating good clinical literacy and team spirit. After the competition, the judging panel conducted collective discussions and rigorous score statistics, and finally selected several first, second, and third prizes for teams.

With the core goal of "promoting teaching through competition and achieving mutual improvement between teaching and learning", this clinical teaching ward round competition not only built a high-quality platform for clinical teaching experience exchange and teaching ability display among various teaching hospitals, but also promoted the teaching staff to focus on the pain points and difficulties in teaching, further optimizing teaching methods and improving teaching quality. In the future, all teaching hospitals of Ningbo University will take this competition as an opportunity to continuously deepen the reform of clinical medical education, consolidate the foundation of clinical teaching, and lay a solid foundation for cultivating high-quality medical talents with solid professional ability and humanistic quality, and contributing to the development of people's health undertakings.
