Ningbo University Medical College Hosts "Cutting-Edge Forum on Alzheimer's Disease"

Author: Cui Wei Date: 2025-07-04

On June 29, the "Cutting-Edge Forum on Alzheimer's Disease" was held at Ningbo University. Co-hosted by the Zhejiang Society for Neuroscience and the School of Basic Medical Sciences under Ningbo University Medical College, the forum gathered over 100 renowned experts and scholars in neuroscience from multiple universities and research institutions, including the University of Hong Kong, the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. They conducted in-depth discussions on core topics related to Alzheimer's Disease, such as its pathological mechanisms, diagnostic methods, and drug treatments.

The forum focused on core issues including the pathological mechanisms, diagnostic approaches, and pharmaceutical therapies of Alzheimer's Disease. Experts deliberated on topics such as glucose metabolism disorders and neuroinflammation, early-onset mechanisms, bioactive substances for symptom improvement, and specific dietary interventions. Notably, the participating experts emphasized that future efforts should further strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and promote applied research on Alzheimer's Disease prevention and treatment through approaches like traditional Chinese medicine, exercise intervention, and neuroimmune regulation.

During the discussions, the experts also specifically pointed out that they hope Ningbo University Medical College will actively integrate the whole-chain resources of "basic research-clinical practice-industry application" to build an innovation platform for the industry-academia-research collaboration in Alzheimer's Disease research. "We will join hands with affiliated hospitals and local biopharmaceutical enterprises to facilitate the translation of scientific research achievements into practical applications, and strive to make new breakthroughs in the field of Alzheimer's Disease research," said Professor Wang Qinwen from Ningbo University Medical College.

This forum marks the second consecutive year that Ningbo University Medical College has hosted a high-end academic conference on Alzheimer's Disease. The successful holding of this forum not only strengthened the exchanges and cooperation between Ningbo University's Alzheimer's Disease research team and prominent researchers from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland but also further enhanced Ningbo University's influence in the field of neuroscience.
